Brigham Leadership Program Alumni
This series provides continuing education, networking and leadership development for graduates of the Brigham Leadership Program.
Career Development & Transitions for Postdocs
Introduction to career pathways, career development and job search skills, self-directed activities, and access to defined resume-building experiences.
This series gives perspectives and criteria regarding the academic promotions process at Harvard Medical School (HMS).

Insights for Investigators Seminar Series
This series provides guidance on skills and competencies necessary for getting research funded and scholarly work published. Live seminars will offer RCR Credit for NIH and NSF Grants.
Mentoring: The Art & Practice
This interactive and case-based series utilizes the CFDD Mentoring Toolkit and curriculum as a backdrop. Faculty and trainees at all levels will explore common themes and apply concepts in a novel exchange of learning and mentoring.
Narrative Medicine Initiative Programming
These seminars and workshops are designed to enhance narrative communication skills as a framework for care, helping physicians to engage more empathetically and collaboratively with patients, colleagues and the broader medical community.
Professional Interactions and Communications
These programs support the development of productive interpersonal, team, and professional workplace interactions and to equip faculty and trainees with the skills to more effectively communicate and present their work.
Wellness Initiative Programming
These seminars provide support for faculty and trainees at all career stages with issues related to sustaining work/life integration, enhancing career satisfaction and wellness, boosting productivity and supporting career flexibility and transitions.
Minority Faculty Career Development Award (MFCDA) Grand Rounds and Honorees Breakfast
Each spring we host a celebration in honor of our past, present, and future MFCDA winners. BWH Departments alternate hosting the Grand Rounds.
Narrative Medicine Symposium
This innovative annual event explores the intersections between storytelling and healing.
National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW)
September marks National Postdoc Appreciation Week, and we host events to recognize the significant contribution that postdoctoral scholars make to the U.S. scientific research enterprise.
New Faculty Welcome Lunch & Awards Ceremony
This is an opportunity for new faculty members to meet one another and key members of the BWHC community, as well as to recognize the recipients of the BWH Faculty Career Development Awards, MFCDA and CFDD Pillar Awards.
OWC Spring Lecture & Luncheon
This lecture celebrates the achievements of women faculty, with a keynote speaker discussing career development and leadership.
Women in Medicine and Science Symposium
Highlights the remarkable achievements of women faculty and trainees at BWHC across different disciplines including basic, clinical innovation and translational research projects.
Cohort-Based Leadership Programs
Brigham Leadership Program (BLP)
This course is a collaborative initiative between BWHC and Harvard Business School (HBS) designed to enhance the leadership capacity of mid-career physicians and scientists, as well as of nursing and clinical directors. Participants meet for four 2.5 day modules on-site at HBS and four interim sessions at BWHC. Projects and cases are customized for the BWHC environment.
Faculty Mentoring Leadership Program (FMLP)
This course is comprised of facilitated peer-learning experiences for mid-career and senior physician and scientist faculty to develop and improve their mentoring effectiveness.
Women’s Leadership Program (WLP)
Designed for women faculty who would like to engage in a structured learning experience to enhance their personal and professional growth, this course models a collaborative environment for participants to learn essential skills which prepare them for leadership roles within the organization.
BWH Postdoc Association Networking Events
In collaboration with the BWH Postdoc Leadership Council (PLC), we host social events for postdocs to expand their networks and socialize in an informal setting.
Residency Applicant Networking Receptions
As a means of providing information for underrepresented in medicine (URM) residency program applicants, we facilitate networking receptions.
OMC Society for Residents and Fellows Reflection Rounds and Mixers
In collaboration with the OMC Society for Residents and Fellows Leadership Council, we organize networking opportunities for URM residents and fellows.
OWC Career Development Round Tables and Faculty Gatherings
These round tables are designed to help women faculty and trainees to expand their professional networks, meet new colleagues, discuss important issues and find resources to succeed at BWH and Harvard Medical School.
BWH Insights for Investigators (IFI) Toolkit
This toolkit is intended to provide researchers and clinicians with insight and guidance on topics fundamental to promotion criteria, including: abstract writing for submission to scientific meetings, the manuscript review process, grant writing strategies, funding opportunities for basic and clinical research and understanding NIH study sections.
BWH Mentoring Toolkit Interactive Website
A collection of learning pearls, cases, readings, resources, and tools to help mentors and mentees navigate the challenges of mentoring relationships in the academic medical setting.
BWH Narrative Medicine Toolkit & Curriculum
This resource focuses on the intersections between narrative and healing. It is geared towards illuminating and equipping doctors, nurses, translational researchers, therapists and other professionals who work in the rapidly shifting landscape of modern health care.
BWH Senior Faculty Tool kit
This toolkit provides resources and benefits related to faculty retirement. Specifically, the toolkit provides access and information on BWH Benefits, Financial Resources, Harvard University Resources, Social Security, Medicare, and more.

BWH Postdoc Association Mentoring Circles Program (MCP)
