Last year’s MFCDA Grand Rounds were presented by previous award recipient, Audra R. Meadows, MD, MPH, Instructor at Harvard Medical School, on the topic of ‘Group Prenatal Care.’ The 2016 MFCDA recipients were Joseph Mancias, MD, PhD,
Assistant Physician, BWH, Department of Radiation Oncology and Viviany Taqueti, MD, MPH, Associate Physician, BWH Department of Radiology, Division of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
Throughout the years, various departments have hosted the Grand Rounds, which feature a speaker who is a past recipient of the award. The MFCDA program, founded in 1996, provides financial support to early-career underrepresented minority (URM) physicians and scientists at BWH, with the goal of increasing their presence across the institution. The five-year $100,000 award is given to two URM members annually.
