To provide hospital-wide leadership and support in the areas of recruitment, retention and advancement of underrepresented minority (URM)* faculty, fellows, residents and students at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Harvard Medical School (HMS).
- To increase the number of underrepresented minority faculty, fellows, residents and students at BWH.
- To enhance the satisfaction, professional development and retention of URM faculty.
- To support the academic promotion of URM faculty.
*Per AAMC guidelines, at BWH, underrepresented minorities (URM) are defined as Black/African American, Alaskan/Hawaiian Native, Latina/Latino/Hispanic, and Native American.
